Beltangady, Dec 28: Pavitra (20), a resident of Langodanahally near Banavar in Arasikere taluk, Hassan district, breathed her last on Monday December 27 morning. She had consumed poison in a private lodge in Dharmasthala on December 23, along with her brother-in-law, Chandrashekhar (32). Chandrashekhar, who is recovering in a hospital in Mangalore, is from Davangere.
Chandrashekhar, who is employed in Bangalore, stays at Vidyanagar area in that city. He had loved and married Netravati from Arasikere, a diploma student, a few months back.
Chandrashekhar had come to Dharmasthala on December 21, with Pavitra, younger sister of his wife, and had hired a room in a lodge. On December 23, both of them consumed poisonous substance, leaving behind suicide notes. Both of them had been found to be suffering, and were rushed to Mangalore after providing first aid at the government hospital here. An insecticide used for ginger cultivation was found from their bag.
Chandrashekhar says they had consumed poison because of some problems. Netravati, who came here after learning about the incident, also told the policemen that the incident was fallout of some family problems.
Family members of the two have come here. A case has been registered in the local police station.
