Kundapur, Dec 27: Former state convener of Bajrang Dal, Mahendra Kumar, who became infamous after his name was linked to church attacks in Mangalore in 2008, pledged to drive away BJP from the state. He said that the BJP is anti-people, and pledged not to rest till he achieves his goal of rooting out the BJP.
He was addressing a pubic meeting organized at Vandse in the taluk, for canvassing votes for JDS candidates.
“Because of the misrule of the BJP, Karnataka has become worse than Bihar. During the last couple of decades, I had worked for the BJP, and introduced thousands of new activists for the party. However, the BJP, now driven by corruption, utterly neglected sincere activists like me. The people of the state have no hope of progress in life because of lust for power and land grabbing activities in which the government is involved with. I will continue to fight till the BJP is driven out of power,” he announced.
Mahendra Kumar said he had volunteered to strengthen the hands of Kumaraswamy, with the sole aim of humbling the BJP. “The BJP does not know how to rule. It only indulges in money-making. The government led by Yeddyurappa, which is aiming to usurp the entire stage, has become a bane for us,” he said.
JDS leaders, Sablady Manjaiah Shetty, Srikant Adiga, Cheriyabba Saheb, candidates, Shalini Shetty Kenchanoor, Shashikala Mogaveerti, Gratian Crasta, Radha Das and others were present.
