Karkala, Dec 27: “Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, Parameshwar, claims that the achievement of the state government is zero. Out achievements have been recognized by even the central government. Parameshwar’s behaviour makes one suspect that he has lost his mental stability,” commented state minister for higher education, Dr V S Acharya.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP office here on Sunday December 26, Acharya claimed that the state government led by the BJP had registered developments that have put the performance of the Congress government during the last 60 years of rule to shame. “Certainly, the KPCC president is bewildered by our performance,” he said.
He spelt out some of the achievements as depositing of Rs 1,400 crore in LIC towards Bhagyalaxmi scheme, disbursement of subsidy at two rupees a litre to dairy farmers, providing of crop loans at an interest rate of three percent per annum to farmers, the lowest in the country, and the decision to extend this facility in the coming year at one percent interest, release of Rs 3,000 crore under Suvarna Grama scheme, etc.
“After we came to power, our party has bagged high number of seats in all elections including cooperative sector, apart from garnering 12 of the 13 milk federations in the state. Our party and alliance partners have won over 90% of seats in Gujarat and Bihar recently. In the zilla panchayat election, we will get power in 23 districts,” he added.
State BJP Yuvamorcha president, V Sunil Kumar, block president of the party, Maniraj Shetty, leaders, Bola Prabhakar Kamath, Antony D’Souza, Arif Kallotte and others were present.
