Sullia, Dec 27: “The Yeddyurappa-led state government is entirely into corruption. None of the past Chief Ministers (CM) had so far stooped to such low levels. His acts have made the people of Karnataka hang their heads in shame. People are fed up of his lack of governance and corruption,” said former union minister, Janardan Poojary. He was addressing a press conference here on Sunday December 26.
“Yeddyurappa is so highly opinionated about himself that he claims to be the heart and soul of the BJP. He feels that the BJP will not survive, if he walks away from the party. He should be forced to step down. In his place, minister, Suresh Kumar, who is honest, should be made the CM. If the party fails to affect this change, the people will force it to do so, once elections are over,” he predicted.
Poojary also accused Yeddyurappa of being arrogant and snubbing the advice given to him by the Lokayukta, Governor, and the media. He ridiculed Yeddyurappa by saying that the CM, who claims to have achieved lot of development in the state in the past 30 months, had in fact, achieved only the progress of his own sons, family, and other ministers. He disclosed that the ‘Anti Corruption Chariot to Awaken People’, which had begun its journey from Markanja, will continue its campaign even after the elections come to a close. “The Congress has pledged to drive away corruption. We will wrest most of the taluk and zilla panchayat seats in this election, and rise to power,” he predicted.
Sullia block Congress president, M Venkappa Gowda, zilla panchayat member, Chandrashekhar Kamath, S Samshuddin, K M Mustafa, Hanif Pajapalla and several others were present at the press conference.
