Mangalore: Two-day Film Festival on Tagore Inaugurated

Mangalore, Dec 26: Sahamatha Film Society and Samudaya jointly have organized a two-day Tagore Film Festival at Srinivas Institute of Management Studies auditorium here to mark Tagore’s 150th birth anniversary on Saturday December 25.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Litterateur Dr Sara Abubacker inaugurating the event saiud that Tagore’s short stories focus on women and preach humanitarian values and hence relevant even to this day.

Theatre artiste C Basavalingaiah presided.

Dr P S Aithal, the principal of Srinivas Institute of Management Studies among others was present.

Four feature films based on Tagore’s “Charulatha” were screened, after which a seminar was held. On Sunday December 26, “Ghare Baire,” “Teen Kanya,” and “Kabuliwalla” will be screened. After screening of each film talks and seminars will be held by experts.
