Panaji: Goa needs to vote for change – Priyanka Gandhi

Daijiworld Media Network – Panaji (MS)

Panaji, Feb 8: General secretary of Congress party Priyanka Vadra campaigned in Nuvem and Navelim constituencies of the state for the forthcoming assembly elections.

Priyanka called on the voters to vote for a change as the state needs it badly to prevent the destruction of Goa’s culture, heritage and ethics.

Priayank blamed BJP for toying with the culture and religious harmony of the state with TMC and AAP supporting them.

The Congress leader said that the people of Goa have to make a choice to protect their identity. Many years ago late prime minister Indira Gandhi had asked Goans whether they want to align with Maharashtra or remain a separate state.

Gandhi interacted with the locals in Majorda, Nuvem and Navelim. Congress seems to be in full throttle campaign in do or die battle in Goa against BJP, AAP and TMC.

Priyanka visited the house of Irene Barros, state leader of the party and interacted with the family. She said that BJP has least respect for the locals and is destroying and exploiting the natural resources. She also said that people of Goa should know whether the decision pertaining to their state should be taken in Goa or in Delhi or West Bengal.

Chidambaram, who is accompanying Gandhi also asked people of Goa not to fall into the trap of AAP or TMC. He said that the only alternative to BJP is Congress.
