Karwar, Dec 25: Uttara Kannada JDS president Pramod Hegde said that the party has emerged stronger with the inclusion of S Bangarappa in the party. He expressed confidence that JDS will win a minimum of 15 seats in the district zilla panchayat, he said.

Addressing presspersons here on Friday December 24, he said that it expected that leaders who had left Janata Parivar will rejoin the party as the state politics is witnessing polarisation. He added that Anand Asnotikar was in contact with the party leaders and had assured to field candidates on the party symbol. However, Asnotikar went back on his promise in the last minute and the party could not field any candidates for the seats in Karwar taluk. This will not party's fortune in the district, he stressed.

He further said that supporters of Bangarappa, who are still in the Congress, will join the Janata Dal(S) after the local body elections.
