Udupi, Dec 25: At the backdrop of national political parties are embarked on election campaign for the forthcoming ZP and TP polls on Friday December 31, the veteran BJP leader, state higher education and district-in-charge minister Dr V S Acharya campaigned in the regions of Moodubelle, Manipur and Shirva, near here on Friday December 24.

Dr Acharya also paid a visit to St Lawrence parish, Moodubelle near here which has been at the threshold of centenary jubilee celebration and met Fr Joshwin Fernandes, office-bearers of parish council and explained the measures taken by state in protecting the minority community from communal flare ups and also state benefits accorded to minority communities.

MLA Lalaji R Mendon, ZP member Gerald Fernandes, Minority Development Board president B Abubacker, BJP minority Morcha district president Salim Ambagilu and BJP block president Kutyar Naveen Shetty among others were present.

Dr Acharya campaigned for BJP’s candidate Reshma Uday Shetty, who is contesting from Shirva ZP constituency and also other BJP candidates for TP elections.
