Mangalore, Dec 24: Former MLA K Vijaya Kumar Shetty submitted a complaint to DC Subodh Yadav here on Friday December 24 alleging Dr A Ravindra, development advisor to the state chief minister of commiting gross violation of the model of code of conduct which is presently in force in view of the local body elections.
In a letter written to the DC, Shetty stated that Ravindra was on official visit to Mangalore on Thursday December 24 to oversee the development of the Mangalore Urban Development Authority (MUDA). However, he also took advantage of his official visit to the BJP office in Kodialbail to address the press and urged the media to support the BJP in the local body election. He also exhorted party workers to ensure the success of BJP candidates. Minister for higher education V S Achaya, district in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar, and others were present.
Ravindra had also used a government vehicle to campaign for the BJP candidates. The vehicle belongs to MUDA.
Speaking to media persons, DC Subodh Yadav assured of a strict action in case the contents in the letter were found to be true. Former MLA also condemned the spot inspection made during the time of election though the demand for the same long existed.
