Mangalore, Dec 24: “The only achievement of the 30-month-old BJP government in the state is corruption and land grabbing. The administrative system in the state has collapsed,” said former union minister, B Janardan Poojary.
Addressing a press conference in the city on Thursday December 23, he challenged BJP leaders, Nitin Gadkari, L K Advani, and Sushma Swaraj, to accept the invitation given by the state Governor, visit Raj Bhavan in Bangalore, and obtain the information the Governor has with him about corrupt ministers. He said that the Governor has expressed readiness to provide information about corruption in the government to anyone who wants to get it.
“Yeddyurappa, who behaves like a dictator, is too fond of his children a` la Dhrutarashtra of Mahabharat. He had returned the land and sites sanctioned to his sons, to the government. Now he claims that he had not committed any wrongs,” he criticized.
He said that the Congress party will lead a movement called ‘Yeddyurappa Hatao’ to shunt the Chief Minister, who is leading the state towards nadir, from his position. The Congress activists will use this as their slogan while canvassing for votes in the zilla panchayat and taluk panchayat elections, he claimed. “If the BJP gets upper hand in the elections, it will be the joint failure of the opposition parties in the state,” he analyzed.
In reply to a question from reporters, he felt that the desire expressed by Yeddyurappa to enter the national politics is a gimmick aimed at earning empathy of the masses.
Congress leaders, Kallige Taranath Shetty, Harikrishna Bantwal, Arun Coelho and Nagendra, were present at the press conference.
