Bellary, Dec 22 (PTI): The Central Empowered Committee Wednesday December 22 inspected a mining company owned by Karnataka Tourism Minister G Janardhana Reddy, which faces allegations of illegal mining, along with five other firms.
The Supreme Court appointed team headed by Member Secretary, M K Jiwrajka inspected the sites belonging to Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC), owned by the minister, Bellary Iron-Ore Limited and Y M & Sons and held discussions with officials of Survey of India, departments of Forest, Mines and Geology and Revenue, officials told PTI.
The CEC also sought details of boundary markings and roads of OMC and examined the rock marks and other boundary pillars across the Siddapuram and Antangamma areas.The team, appointed by the Supreme Court on November 19, has to submit its report before January 7, 2011.
