Kundapur: Sexual Abuse to Student – Teacher Arrested

Daijiworld Media Network – Kundapur (SP)

Kundapur, Dec 22: The people of Mudoor village in the taluk caught hold of a teacher, who allegedly meted out sexual harassment to a fifth standard student on a regular basis, and handed him over to the policemen, on Tuesday December 21. The policemen have taken him into custody.

The arrested teacher has been identified as Subrahmanya Kannanta, working as a teacher in a private primary school in Mudoor.  He allegedly behaved obscenely with a particular fifth standard student every day since the last some time. The girl, who was too ashamed to share this information with others, had been silently suffering. Her classmates however, gave information to her family members, after waiting for some time in the hope that the teacher will mend his behaviour.

The parents then came to the school along with some locals, saw with their own eyes as to what the teacher was doing, and then handed him over to Kollur police station. A case of sexual assault stands registered in the police station against the said teacher.

In the meanwhile, the residents of Mudoor have handed over a memorandum to the block education officer, urging him to suspend the teacher with immediate effect. They have warned that they will undertake strong protests, if the teacher in question is posted to the same school again.
