Mangalore: Ivan D’Souza Appointed Member of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee

Mangalore, Dec 21: Ivan D’Souza, the city advocate and Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee (DCC) vice- president has been appointed as the member of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), recently.

Jnadeshikan, chairman of Karnataka Pradesh Electioneering Authority issued the letter in this regard.

Ivan D’Souza has been actively involved in politics since he was appointed as a member of gram panchayat in his native. He had served as member of Karnataka Cashew Development Board, senate member of Mangalore University Syndicate, Academic Council and district KDP.

Presently, Ivan D’Souza serves as vice- president of DCC and as office-bearer of Autorickshaw Drivers' Union, Bus Employees Union and Head-load Hawkers' Union among others.

He had also contested for the legislative assembly elections a few years ago and also serves as electioneering observer of Mysore District Congress Committee.

He is the only Christian from Dakshina Kannada district to be appointed as a member of KPCC after the late Blasius D’Souza.
