Mangaluru/Udupi, Jan 31: Dakshina Kannada on Monday, January 31, reported 363 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 337 cases.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,32,537 out of which 3,954 are currently active.
As many as 816 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,757. Out of which six deaths were reported on Monday.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,14,48,780 as fine in 94,679 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
A total of 337 new cases were reported on Monday. The total active Covid cases have risen to 4,479. A total of 831 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday.
Udupi taluk reported 176 cases, Kundapura 93 and 62 cases in Karkala. Six cases were reported from outside district.
A total of 10,10,184 people have received first dose of vaccination and 8,54,438 have received both doses.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
