Mangalore, Dec 21: Mangalore assistant commissioner, Prabhulinga Kavalikatti, handed over a cheque amounting to Rs 1 lac one lac rupees to a patient undergoing treatment at the A J Hospital, Kuntikana here.
The patient Vijayalakshmi is a resident of Kalmadka Sullia and is on treatment for backbone-related ailment. The financial assistance was issued from out of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund of CM B S Yeddyurappa.
The 32-year-old was rendered immobile after a fall on the way to fetch firewood about three months ago. She is the only breadwinner of the family after her husband's demise four years ago.
