Udupi, Dec 20: Dr Dayanand Nayak, 55-year-old district surgeon who has been serving at the district hospital here since 5 years and who had also served in state-run hospitals in Bangalore, Beltangady and Sullia passed away at the hospital on Monday December 20 morning due to cardiac arrest.
Dr Dayanand is survived by his wife Pramoda and son Vivek.
The state higher education minister Dr V S Acharya, MLA K Raghupati Bhat, DC Hemalata P, zilla panchayat CEO N Rajashekar, municipal commissioner Gokuldas Naik, district health and family welfare officer Dr Ramachandra Bayari, district information and broadcasting officer M Junjanna, the health officers of district hospital and maternity and children’s ward, Government Employees Association president Subramanya Sherigar and members of Association condoled the untimely demise of Dr Dayanand.
The mortal remains of Dr Dayanand will be placed at his residence located near Kamalabai School, Kadiyali for public homage on Tuesday December 21 between 9.00 am to 11.00 am.
