Mangalore: Church Attack Cases – Bishop Leads Delegation to Advani, CM

Mangalore, Dec 20: A delegation led by Mangalore Bishop, Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, met former deputy Prime Minister and BJP leader, L K Advani, and Karnataka Chief Minister, B S Yeddyurappa on Sunday December 19.

The delegation impressed upon these two leaders to withdraw about 200 cases, which had been registered against persons belonging Christianity in 2008, relating to attacks on Christian centres of prayer here on September 14 and 15, 2008.

Public relations officer of the local diocese, Fr William Menezes, and Canara Organization for Development and Peace director, Fr Onil D’Souza, were the members of the delegation.

Both Advani and Yeddyurappa positively responded to the plea and promised to initiate steps to withdraw these cases. The delegation met the dignitaries at the hotel in the city where they had stayed.
