Udupi, Dec 20:
The ongoing ‘Jatra Utsav’ began at the historical Kodamanittaya Daivasthana, Shibaroor, near here, recently.

Shibaroor Kodamanittaya Daivasthana is one of the historical shrines in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district which is witnessing throngs of devotees from all over the district.  It’s popular among the coastal residents as ‘Tibar Jatra.’

Shibaroor Kodamanittaya Daivastana and Durgaparameshwari Temple, Kateel, in Mangalore taluk have been significant places of worship since ancient times.

Despite the untimely rains in the past week, the enthusiasm of devotees attending the Jatra Utsav remained intact. It’s the first Jatra Utsav since the Nemotsav was held at the shrine.
