Mangalore: Prison Ministry India Holds Christmas Celebration at District Sub-jail

Mangalore, Dec 19: Prison Ministry India, the national voluntary organization working for the release, renewal and rehabilitation of prisoners as well as women in distress, city Unit celebrated  Christmas with the inmates of District Sub-Jail, here on Saturday  December 18.


Fr Walter D’Souza, the co-ordinator of PMI, welcomed the gathering.  Stanly, member of the Unit presented a bird’s eye view of the rehabilitation programmes conducted for the inmates of the prison by the PMI.

Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore delivered the Christmas message of peace and repentance.  Manoramma P Bhat, the chief guest spoke about the need of renewal in the life of the inmates.

Prison authorities were present for the programme. Prizes were distributed to the winners of different competitions conducted among the inmates by PMI volunteers. A colourful entertainment programme was conducted by the Carmelite Brothers from Infant Jesus Shrine, Bikarnakatte.
