Udupi, Dec 18: If you have the will to model after Gandhi it is not impossible, observed litterateur Mohammed Kunhi.
He was addressing the students at the prize distribution ceremony organized to honour winners of the elocution competition jointly held by Manipal Bharatiya Trust and MGM College Study Centre at the Ravindra Mantap of the college here on Saturday December 18. Explaining to the students that Gandhiji was just an ordinary student, but had an amazing will to take up the path of truth and non-violence, he added.
Don't fear police personnel, but try and succeed to become a great person. Always raise your voice against injustice however small. It is only matter of time that one will achieve the greatness of Gandhiji, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, senior journalist, M V Kamath said that everyone today knows either Sachin or Dhoni, but hardly few are aware of freedom fighter Subash Chandra Bose. It will not be surprising if one forgets Gandhiji too very soon, he remarked.
Sagar former MLA L T Timmappa Hegde presided. He called on everyone to be good for the good of the nation.
Education expert K R Hande among others were present.
The winners of the elocution competition were given away prizes and citation.
Vikas Trust managing trustee K M Udupa delivered the introductory address. Laxmi Bai of the trust compered the programme.
