Mangalore, Dec 17: Dr Kailkere Mohandas Bhandary, immediate past president of Indian Medical Association (IMA), Mangalore branch has been chosen as the ‘Best president of local branch’ for the year 2010 from among 2000 IMA branch units from all over India.
The Award will be conferred to him at a special award ceremony during the IMA National Conference at BM Birla Auditorium, Jaipur on December 27.
The award conferred on Dr Bhandary is in recognition of service rendered in his capacity as president of IMA during 2009-2010, in honour of his initiatives and activities to enhance the performance of the branch, especially in the field of improving the doctor-patient relationship.
An important achievement during his term was to organize the 76th Annual State Conference of IMA in the city which was a great success and won the hearts of the members of the healthcare fraternity.
IMA is an 80-year old national level general body representing medical professionals of all specializations and it has over 2000 branch units all over the country.
