Bangalore, Dec 16 (DHNS): The kidnapped Bescom engineer Krishnamurthy’s (55) case took a tragic on Thursday when his body was found in a well near Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu.
The prime accused Viji reportedly owed money to Bescom and was under pressure from Krishnamurthy to settle the due. This was the reason for the murder according to Viji’s reported confession to the Cubbon Park police. Viji and three of his associates were arrested on Thursday.
The accused after kidnapping Krishnamurthy on Tuesday, reportedly called the engineer’s wife, Kumuda, posing as Lokayukta sleuths. They allegedly said Krishnamurthy had been trapped and demanded Rs five lakhs to let him go. Kumuda fell for the story as the kidnappers made Krishnamurthy speak to her. Kumuda reportedly went to the location with Rs three lakhs in cash. Kidnappers made away with the cash and her car and told her to arrange the rest of the money.
The Cubbon Park police are investigating the case.
