Bangalore, Dec 16: The Prison Ministry India (PMI), the national voluntary organization working for the release, renewal, and rehabilitation of prisoners as well as women in distress, held Christmas and New Year celebrations for the inmates of Central Prison here on Tuesday December 15.
Sr Adel Korah, PMI Bangalore unit co-ordinator, introduced Fr Jose Kutty, PMI national co-ordinator, to the gathering. Fr Jose Kutty was felicitated by Archbishop Dr Bernard Moras for his selfless service to
prisoners in the country.
Archbishop Dr Bernard Moras delivered the Christmas message of peace and repentance on the occasion.
Kavita Baburaj, corporator, Singasandra ward, was the guest of honour.
Prison authorities were also present at the programme.
Prizes were distributed to winners of different competitions conducted among inmates by PMI volunteers.
Variety entertainment was conducted with the co-operation of different Catholic institutions of the metro and the inmates gave a marvelous performance.
PMI Karnataka co-ordinator Aida D'Cunha welcomed the gathering.
