Mangalore, Dec 15: Two students, who were searching for gullible preys to snatch chains from their necks, were arrested by the policemen on Tuesday December 14. A gold chain was also recovered from them. They have been identified as Philip Babu from Ekkur Bajal and Elen Tony from Kochi in Kerala.
The two, who were passing through Taretota near Nantur in the city in their motor bike, tried to sneak away after finding the policemen, who checking vehicles there. Growing suspicious, the policemen chased and caught them. During interrogation, the two reportedly revealed that they were looking to snatch chains from women.
The policemen found a gold chain weighing 30 grams from the pocket of one of them. The students confessed that they had snatched this chain from the neck of woman from near Empire Mall in the city about a month back.
Both of them are said to be pursuing courses in management here. On being produced in a court, they were remanded to 15 days judicial custody.
