Doha: Indian Cultural Centre celebrates Rangoli Mela coupled with kite flying

Doha, Jan 17: Makara Sankranti is an important pan-Indian solar festival, known by different names observed across India, with different names in welcoming harvest, with several names Pongal, Lohri, Bihu, and Makara Sankranti. The ICC celebrated Makara Sankranti this year with a difference in the coordination of Andhra Kala Vedika and Gujarat Samaj. Rangoli Mela coupled with kite flying is the traditional way of celebrating the festival.

Dr Deepak Mittal, ambassador of India to Qatar, Dr Alpana Mittal, and Xavier Dhanraj ICC coordinating officer joined the celebrations in ICC premises and Ashoka hall.

In association with Andhra Kala Vedika new management team under the leadership of Venkappa Bhagavatula and the woman team along with ICC woman jointly drew several colorful Rangolis in Ashoka hall.

Gujarat Samaj president Devang Patel along with their team and families joined in kite flying from ICC Premises.

Under ICC president PN BabuRajan the Rangoli Mela with kite festival was enjoyed by all participants.
