Shimoga, Dec 13: State BJP president, K S Eshwarappa, informed here on Sunday December, that the state ministry would be reshuffled and expanded after the conclusion of the forthcoming taluk and zilla panchayat elections. “Both newcomers and veteran party activists will be given an opportunity to serve the state during this exercise,” he claimed.
Speaking to reporters, he clarified that those districts, which have not got representations in the ministry, would be given priority. He clarified that some of the ministers will be relieved of ministerial responsibilities for utilizing their services for the organizational purposes.
Eshwarappa said that the Congress and the JDS suffer from lack of able leaders. “The Congress had enticed Siddaramaiah into its fold, and offered the post of the leader of the opposition. The JDS is now doling out a promise to Siddaramaiah to make him the Chief Minister. Siddaramaiah neither has loyalty towards any party, not is guided by any principles and policies,” he commented.
Eshwarappa said that the list of party candidates for the zilla and taluk panchayats would be released in a couple of days. He clarified that district-level core committees have been formed for choosing the right candidates, and that while selecting the candidates, loyalty to the party, even though they are young, would be given due weightage.
On the statement of L K Advani that the central leaders have been closely monitoring the developments in the state, Eshwarappa said that disciplinary action has been taken against 16 persons from the party for their indiscipline. He at the same time noted that several people have come into the party with an eye on grabbing power or making money.
