Udupi: Oscar Inaugurates Congress Sevadal and Labour Unit Offices

Udupi, Dec 9: Former union minister and Rajya Sabha member, Oscar Fernandes, drove home the need to organize unorganized labourers to enable them to get justice and benefits.

He was speaking after inaugurating the district Congress Sevadal and labour unit offices at a meeting of the party activists and leaders held on Wednesday December 8 at Udupi district Congress Bhavan here.

District Congress president, K Gopal Poojary, former president, M A Gafoor, MLC, K Pratapchandra Shetty, MLA, Gopal Bhandary, former state minister, Vasant V Salian, entrepreneur, Pramod Madhwaraj, Veronica Carnelio, state INTUC general secretary, Sadashiva Shetty, party leader, Manjunath Udyavar, youth Congress president, Prasannakumar Shetty, former zilla panchayat presidents, Bhujanga Shetty, Raju Poojary and Sarasu Bangera, apart from scores of party leaders participated in the meeting.

On the occasion, Sadashiva Sheregar Kannarpady, a worker, was honoured.

Sevadal president, Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, and labour unit president, Murali Shetty, delivered welcome addresses. Vijayakumar presented the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
