Udupi, Dec 8: Yermal Kutty Shetty (80), husband of BJP leader, Sheela Shetty, breathed his last at his residence in Yermal village near Padubidri in the district on Tuesday December 7. He is survived by wife, three sons, and three daughters.

He had two hotels, one at Ghatkopar Mumbai, and the other at Padubidri. A few years back, he returned to his village from Mumbai, handing over the hotel management to his son. He was engaged in agricultural activities here, and was fully supportive of the political activities of his wife.

Minister, Dr V S Acharya, chairman of Finance Commission Recommendations Implementations Committee, A G Kodgi, MP, D V Sadanand Gowda, MLAs, K Raghupati Bhat, Lalaji R Mendon, Halady Srinivas Shetty and K Lakshminarayan, MLC, Kota Srinivas Poojary, BJP district president, Udayakumar Shetty and a number of other dignitaries have grieved Shetty’s demise, and offered condolences to the bereaved family.
