Udupi: Tipper-Omni Collision – Four Injured

Udupi, Dec 7: Four persons were injured after a tipper truck collided with a Maruti Omni vehicle at Kotalakatte near Kaup in the district on national highway 17 on Sunday night.

The injured have been identified as Mumtaz (35), Sabina (27), her husband, Junaid (33), and son, Niyal (14) from Kundapur. The vehicle was moving towards Mangalore airport to bring relatives scheduled to arrive from a foreign destination. All of them are being treated in hospitals located here and at Manipal. The tipper truck was involved with highway widening work.

On the basis of a complaint filed by the driver of the Omni vehicle, the Kaup policemen have registered a case against the driver of the tipper truck.
