Kundapur, Dec 6: For the first time in the history of Kundeshwar temple car festival was held as part of Lakshadeepotsava on a grand scale. It was celebrated in an unpresented manner in the sense that all the shop-keepers and residents of the town voluntarily participated in the festival irrespective of caste, creed and religion.

Several cultural associations showed keen interest in celebrating the day in a befitting way. In the morning the pushpaka Rathothsava was held for the first time in the history of the temple. Other religious rituals such as Shatharudra Bhisheka, Mahan pooja etc. were also conducted with deep devotion.

In the evening Koni Gopalakrishna Bhajana Mandali held bhajan and other cultural programmes. As a part of the cultural entertainment, the popular troupe Nritya Vasanta Natyalaya held an unique programme called Nritya Vaibhava.

At 8.30 pm, a procession under the leadership of Vidwan Kota Chandarshekar Somayaji was taken where thousands took part adding glory to the programme.

Kundeshwar Lakshadeepotsava has the history of hundreds of years with the royal connection.
