Mangalore: DC Discusses Security Arrangements Ahead of President Patil's Visit

Mangalore, Dec 5:
A preparatory meeting was held at the deputy commissioner's office here on Sunday December 5 regarding the security arrangements for President Pratibha Patil's visit to the undivided Dakshina Kannada district on December 8 and 9.

The meeting was presided over by DC Subhodh Yadav.

The President will arrive at Bajpe Airport on December 8 evening by a special IAF helicopter. She will participate in the tenth convocation of Manipal University along with governor H R Bhardwaj and chief minister B S Yeddyurappa.

On December 9 she will participate in the World Konkani Cultural Convention, scheduled to be held at Nehru Maidan.
 
In the meeting a long discussion was held on various security arrangements and other preparations to be done.
 
Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, DCP Ramesh, additional DC Prabhakar Sharma, commissioner Dr K N Vijayprakash, Airport director Vasudeva M, Air India officials, additional SP M Prabhakar, AC Prabhulinga Kavalakatti, Wenlock Surgeon Dr Saroja, DHO, RTO, tahshildar among others were present.
