Panaji: Save Old Goa committee to approach SC if structure not removed

Daijiworld Media Network – Panaji (MS)

Panaji, Jan 2: The committee for Save Old Goa said that it will approach the supreme court if the structure next to the heritage site is not removed before the assembly elections.

Speaking to reporters, Anthony D’Silva, member of Save Old Goa committee said, “The Satyagraha at the village will be intensified to inform the people of Goa about the illegal structure.”

The technical permission granted for the project was stopped and also stop work order is issued by the government. But the committee is hell bent that the structure needs to be razed.

D’Silva said that all the 40 MLAs of Goa should join together and demolish the illegal building before the assembly elections. Otherwise we will go to the apex court.

According to D’Silva, the recent order issued to the owner of the building has lot of loopholes in it. They are just buying time by issuing such useless notices. We want the structure to be demolished.
