Moodbidri, Dec 22: Life Service Center here has created a huge Christmas Star by using parched rice and wooden pieces. The star has been hung in front of Mount Carmel Church, Shirtady, for public viewing.
Members of Life Service Center, Prasanna Joel Sequeira, Yatishi Kulal and Naveen Shetty, have together been creating the Christmas stars every year for the last eight years. In the ninth year of the series of Christmas Stars, this team has created the star by using environment-friendly materials.
Twenty kg parched rice, and 20 kg wooden reapers have been used to create this star. It is 12 feet high and 11 feet wide. An attractive crib with a roof of dry hay has been created at the centre.
Harish Acharya has attended to the wood carving work. It took eight days for the team to create this star. Cyprian D'Souza and Abhilash Karkala also were involved with the creation of this star.
The star which spreads the message of harmonious coexistence provides a breathtaking view with beautiful lights at night.
