Kuwait, Nov 29: The Konkani Speaking Community of Nithyadar Vado celebrated their Vado Fest at Our Lady of Arabia Church, Ahmadi Parish, here on Friday November 26.

As a part of celebration there was a festal mass in Konkani at 11.00 am which was solemnized by Fr John Harry D’Souza and organized by Nithyadar Vado.

The cultural event was held in the evening at Mangaf hall from 7.00 pm onwards.  People from Vado gathered in large numbers and expressed the sprit of oneness.  Edward Roshan D’Souza was the master of ceremony. Area coordinator Henry Castelino welcomed the chief guests Fr John Harry D’Souza and Ronny D’Cunha.

Gladys Lorena, the first winner of Gulf Voice of Mangalore was honoured by Fr John Harry.  Certificate of appreciation were given to the participants, those who participated in group and solo singing competition, during Monti fest, at Ahmadi parish.
 
The cultural programme continued with a group prayer song (Mori Mai), Children’s group dance, couple group dance, spot prize, games, skit and variety of entertainment. Fr John Harry blessed the food which was served later.

Finally Priya Monis D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
