Mangalore, Nov 29: Noted Konkani writer and advocate, Christian marriage registrar and notary public, Stanley R D’Costa, was honoured by Mangalore Bar Association on the occasion of Law Day celebrations held at Loyola Hall in the city, recently in recognition of his outstanding work in Konkani.
Stanley D’Costa was honoured for his achievement in bringing various laws in Konkani language through his books on laws titled ‘Kanoon Daiz’ and ‘Kanoon Maheth’, which contain comprehensive details about 30 laws brought out in lucid Konkani for educating the Konkani-speaking people of this country. These works have significantly contributed towards easing the burden of work on the district legal cell in educating the public and in creating awareness among the rural people, who can read only Konkani, said local Bar Association president, S P Chengappa.
Former advocate general and member of Central Law Commission, B V Acharya, district and sessions judge, R V Deshpande, Mangalore Bar Association president, S P Chengappa, and others were present at the function.
