Mangalore, Nov 27: In an interesting incident that occurred in the city recently, a person who made sexual advances towards a woman and then stabbed her upon her refusal was stabbed back by the woman with the same knife.

Sheela (35), residing near Nisargadhama in Vamanjoor Moodushedde in the city, came under attack from Amaresh alias Ambarish (45), a native of Bangalore rural district. Sheela’s husband works in Pilikula Golf Club. It is learnt that Ambarish knew Sheela, as the two families lived in the neighbourhood in rented houses in the past. Reportedly, Ambarish’s wife had gone to her parents’ home, after her relationship with husband turned sour. Ambarish visited Sheela’s home on Wednesday evening, and had tea. He then tried to embrace her. When she refused, he stabbed her face with a knife. She grappled with him, and hit back with the same knife to his back twice. In the bargain, she also suffered minor nicks and cuts to her hand.

Accused Ambarish was later arrested by the policemen of Kavoor station here. Investigation is on.
