Chitradurga, Dec 17: Religious conversion has become a controversial subject that has been debated everywhere for some time now. Many have been expressing their indignation about forcible conversions. Discussions about the prevalence or otherwise of conversions are happening. In some cases, even when there is some evidence about the fact that religious conversions are indeed taking place, many are denying that these things are actually happening.
In a curious development, Hosadurga tahsildar Tippeswamy from the district has been transferred unexpectedly. He had said in his survey report that no forced conversions were taking place.

It may be recalled the Hosadurga MLA Gulihatti Shekar, had stated in the assembly that several people including his mother had been forcibly converted from Hinduism. He had also shed tears when recalling how his mother deserted Hinduism. But Tippeswamy, in his report, had said that these are false claims and that no such things are happening in his area. His report forwarded to the government through the deputy commissioner of the district had said that no forcible conversions had taken place in Hosadurga. Now he has been transferred. The government action has now fomented hectic discussions.
Tippeswamy has not been shown his next place of posting even though he has been shifted out of Hosadruga. In his place, Mallikarjun has been posted as tahsildar.
