Panaji, Dec 17: Five youths were arrested from a restaurant in Benaulim on the charges of outraging the modesty of a woman on the afternoon of Thursday, December 16.
In the complaint given by Seble Menezes it is alleged that Rohit Faldessai from Bali, Cuncolim, SAnkesh Nishad, Akash Atwekar, Viju Naik and Deepak Valikar assaulted Maxwell Fernandes, friend of the complainant with a glass bottle on his head. They also assaulted Larson Fernandes in the process.
Complainant Seble tried to intervene and rescue her friend, while her clothes were torn by Nishad. In addition to outrage her modesty, Nishad also threatened to disrobe her.
Various sections of IPC are slapped on the five accused.
