Mangalore, Nov 27: City-based Omega Hospital’s managing director and cardiologist, Dr K Mukund, took over as the new president of Mangalore unit of Indian Medical Association on Thursday November 25. A function in this connection was held at IMA House in the city.
Mukund said that it is the duty of every doctor to protect the health of the people. He advised them to make all out efforts towards this direction.
The programme was inaugurated by vice chancellor of Nitte University, Dr N Shantaram Shetty. He extended best wishes to the new president and other office bearers. Immediate president of the unit, Dr K Mohandas Bhandary, presided. Veteran gynaecologist, Manorama Rao, participated as chief guest.
Newly elected secretary, Dr Ramachandra Kamath, treasurer, Dr G K Bhat and Dr Annayya Kulal, were present.
Dr A G Jayakrishnan representing Omega Hospital, and S L Bharadwaj representing Mangalore Heart Foundation, extended warm wishes to the new president and office bearers of IMA.
