Bangalore, Nov 25 (PTI): Opposition JDS today filed an additional complaint against beleaguered B S Yeddyurappa, alleging him of purchasing several acres of lands in violation of the Karnataka Land Reforms Act.
Speaking to reporters after filing the complaint before Lokayukta, JDS spokesperson Y S V Datta charged Yeddyurappa of purchasing over five acres in Timlapura taluk and about nine acres in Shiralakoppa taluk in Shimoga district in "utter violation of Section 79 (a b) of the Karnataka Land Reforms Act".
The complaint also includes allotment of 28 acres of land near Bengaluru International Airport at Devanahalli, 17.5 acres in Sonnenahalli in Bangalore East and 25 acres in Machenahalli village in Shimoga district to Adarsh Developers by the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) in violation of the said act, he said.
"We have also brought to fore the allotment of about 6 acres in Devarabeesanahall in Bangalore East to Adarsh Developers by KIADB for industrial purpose (which was later converted to residential purpose)," Dutta said.
He said the JDS would not cooperate with the judicial probe into the land scams ordered by Yeddyurappa as the "terms of reference does not include acts of nepotism in."
Dutta flayed Yeddyurappa for not taking the prior permission of Lokayukta before ordering the judicial probe as "Lokayukta had started investigation into the land scams much before the order."
On November 18, the JDS had filed a complaint against the Chief Minister before Lokayukta for denotifying lands valued at Rs 5,000 crore to favour members of his family members and others.
