Bantwal: Kanakadasa Jayanti Celebrated with Zeal

Bantwal, Nov 25: Kanakadasa was a great revolutionist who brought social equality and justice with the social and religious insight, said senior litterateur Erya Laxmi Narayana Alva.

He was the key speaker at the taluk level Kanakadasa Jayanti celebration organized by National Festival Celebration Committee in SJSY Hall, B C Road on Wednesday November 24. Coining Kanakadasa a national personality, Erya said that it is the pride of Indian culture to notice that the great prophet Vadiraja followed the ideals of Kanakadasa.

In his presidential address, Bantwal township president B Dinesh Poojary said that there is need for passing of life and thoughts of Kanakadasa to the young generation of the nation.

Taluk pachayat member Sesappa Gowda was the guest. Tahsildar Ravichandra Nayak welcomed the gathering. Manju Vittal compered the programme.

Invitation Letters found in News Box

Amidst there were complaints that invitations did not reach some of the dignitaries and were found in journalists’ news box on Tuesday. The invitations addressed to B Nagaraj Shetty, president of Coastal Development Authority, Tahsildar of Beltangady were found in the news box. It is believed that the apathy of staffs in tahsildar was the cause for this careless act.
