Puttur, Nov 24: A police team led by Uppinangady sub-inspector of police, G T Dasari, succeeded in solving a murder case by arresting the accused, Shsahidhar alias Narayan (25), a native of Pangala in Ujire village, from Bangalore. They have also succeeded in recovering gold ornaments he had taken away after killing his aunt. The arrest was made from Jalahalli Chikkasandra in Bangalore.
On November 16, Shashidhar had visited the house of his relative, Lingappa Gowda, residing in Shibaraje in Kalenja village. When no one else was around, he had given Lingappa’s daughter, Hemavaty, a piece of cake he had brought with him. Not knowing that the cake was laced with poison, she consumed it and died some time thereafter. He had taken away the ornaments she was wearing at the time.
The policemen, who located the killer’s whereabouts with the help of his mobile number, found that he was running a bakery in Chikkasandra in Bangalore. Shadhidhar reportedly disclosed to the policemen that he killed Hemavaty, as he was hounded by the men from a finance firm from whom he had raised loan for opening the bakery.
