Mangaluru/Udupi, Dec 11: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday, December 11, reported 20 new coronavirus while Udupi registered 2 cases.
As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 23,20,672 samples have been tested so far, out of which 22,04,625 have turned out to be negative.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,16,047 out of which 142 are currently active.
As many as 19 patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,698.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,09,11,770 as fine in 90,175 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
As per the district health bulletin, as many as 13,11,110 samples have been tested so far.
A total of 2 new cases were reported on Saturday, taking the total number of cases to 76,957 out of which 59 are currently active.
A total of 1 patient was discharged from hospitals on Saturday. Coronavirus has claimed 477 lives in the district so far.
So far 9,49,597 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 7,72,568 have received the second dose.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
