Mangalore, Nov 23: Members of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) held a protest rally in front of the DC’s office on Tuesday November 23 condemning the land scams of chief minister Yeddyurappa and corruption by the ministers in the central government.
The protestors urged for CBI probe into all the denotifications done by the CM. Abdul Zaleel, working president, SDPI DK district while addressing the protestors said that people awareness campaign will be continued to be held by SDPI until and unless people do not understand whom they are not suppose to vote. He lamented the act of religious leaders who are supporting Yeddyrappa even after allegations on him are proved.
Alphons Franco, vice-president of SDPI D K District said that Yeddyurappa after many scams is not able to defend himself, and voters should carefully vote in next election. He fumed over V S Acharya’s silence over all the scams.
In a memorandum addressed to the governor, the protestors mentioned that the value of our state has come down due to the enormous level of corruption by the politicians in state government. They also urged to form a special bill to eliminate corruption and to remove Yeddyurappa from the CM post.
Saleem Guruvayanakere, district secretary, SDPI, DK District welcomed the gathering and delivered the keynote address. Anwar Sadath, member, SDPI Karnataka presided . Yusuf Aladka, chief secretary, SDPI, Bantwal delivered the vote of thanks. Riyaz B C Road conducted the programme. Subrahmanya Bhat, president, Nagarika Hiharakshana Samithi Bantwal and Ramanna Rai Krishnappa Sunnaje among others were present.
