Mangalore: Prof M B Puranik to be Honoured on Nov 25

Mangalore, Nov 24: A function to felicitate Prof M B Puranik, who has been active since the last four decades in educational, social, and religious fields, is being organized on November 25 in the city, on the occasion of his selection for this year’s Karnataka Rajyotsava Award.

This function is being organized by the managing committee of Sharada Group of Institutions in association with various dignitaries. The programme will be held in Sharada Vidyalaya premises in the city.

Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejavar Mutt, MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, minister, Krishna J Palemar, and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) national executive member, N Krishnappa, will be among the dignitaries who will grace the occasion, said K C Naik, member of the felicitation committee and entrepreneur, addressing a press conference held here on Tuesday November 23.

He informed that Puranik has served RSS in various capacities, besides being the district president of Vidyabharati Akhila Bharatiya Shiksha Samsthan, honorary president of Govanitashtraya Trust etc.

Committee members, M S Shastri, Pradip Kumar Kalkura, A Krishnamurty and Dayanand Kateel were present at the press conference.
