Mangaluru/Udupi,Dec 10: Dakshina Kannada on Friday, December 10 reported 26 new coronavirus cases. The case positivity rate for the district stands at 0.35%.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 23,14,272 samples have been tested so far, out of which 21,98,245 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,16,027 out of which 141 are currently active.

As many as 12 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday, taking the total number of recoveries to 114188.

The death in the district on Friday is nil. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,698.

The district administration has collected Rs 1,09,09,970 in fines for 90,160 mask violations.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 13,07,511 samples have been tested for the second wave of coronavirus.

As many as 4 new cases were reported on Friday, taking the total number of cases to 76,955 out of which 58 are currently active.

A total of 9 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday, taking the total number of recoveries to 76,420 for the second wave.

The second wave of coronavirus has claimed 287 lives in the district.
