Kasargod: Death of Mangalore Kazi – CBI Inquiry in Final Stage

Kasargod, Nov 23: Officials of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) disclosed that the investigation undertaken by them relating to the death of the former Mangalore Kazi, C M Abdulla Moulavi Chembarikka, is in the final stages.

A team of the bureau, led by circle inspector from its Thiruvananthapuram unit, Lasser, has been heading the investigating team at present. Several persons have been questioned in this case, and a few were taken to CBI Thiruvananthapuram unit for interrogation. The officials, however, refused to reveal any additional information at present, as the inquiry is in a decisive phase. They however, disclosed that a charge sheet would be filed by them in this connection, shortly.

It may be recalled that the body of the aged Kazi was found lying near the boulders on the seashore some distance away from his home on February 2010 morning. The family members had said that the Kazi, who was old, fragile, and sick, never ventured out on his own, without informing the family members.
