Mangalore: Parts of Coast Soak in Rains

Mangalore, Nov 23: Rains visited a few places in Karnataka coast and Kasargod district on Monday November 22. While heavy rains with lightning were witnessed in Sullia taluk, places like Puttur, Dharmasthala, a few places in Kasargod district and Kadaba, got some rains.

Bantwal taluk had cloudy weather. Many places in Udupi district experienced rains. Although most parts of Karkala taluk got some rains, Hebri in particular, got heavy rains with lightning and thunder. Power supply to the town and surrounding villages continues to be disrupted since Sunday. The city and nearby areas too received some rains at night.

Electronic equipments and wiring of three houses near Vittal were damaged due to lightning on Monday. After lightning struck a house owned by Dinakar Poojary in Nadsal Beedinakere near Padubidri, electronic equipments were damaged and window classes were broken. A boy in the house suffered some burn injuries.

The meteorological department prediction valid till Wednesday morning says that the coast, several places in southern hinterlands and a couple of places in northern hinterlands are likely to receive some rains.
