Mangalore Likely to get Govt Engineering College


Mangalore, Nov 21 (DHNS): Higher Education Minister Dr V S Acharya has given in principle approval for starting Government Engineering College in Mangalore.

According to a press release from MLA Yogish Bhat, the government engineering is likely to be started at Karnataka Polytechnic College, Kadri. The government engineering college will offer civil, mechanical, electrical, electronics, and chemical engineering branches.

The college will help the poor students of in and around Mangalore to pursue their studies.

    As it is the existing colleges are half emty (or half full) why another white elephant??? Instead the Minister would do well by creating a fund with that investment to pay for the fees of the poor students. He would have "killed two birds with one stone". One the poor student will benefit and two, the existing infrastructure gets utilized.
