Bengaluru, Dec 5: A woman has undergone psychological stress after the death of her mother and is obsessed with cleanliness to the extent that her husband has filed for divorce unable to bear her tantrums.
Suma, the wife of software engineer Jayanth, is having bath six times a day. In addition, she washes the soap she used to have bath with another soap. She also washes the laptop and smart phone of her husband with soap.
Suma’s husband has filed a case of divorce. Suma, an MBA graduate and software engineer Jayanth got married in 2009. They went to London after marriage. Suma was obsessed with cleanliness right from the beginning of their marriage. After their child was born, she went crazy and was asking her husband to clean his shoe, clothes and mobile phone repeatedly.
Jayanth took his wife for counselling also. Meanwhile, they had second child. When Jayanth thought that her OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) is coming under control, coronavirus broke all the hell and Suma once again started being obsessed with cleaning. The death of her mother caused extreme psychological trauma to Suma and now it has reached extreme.
“Suma uses sanitizer repeatedly. She cleans furniture, spoons, floor, mat and all things over and over again. Once the children arrive from school, she cleans their bag, uniform and shoes several times. Now she has started to wash my laptop and smart phone also with soap. I am unable to bear this,” says her husband Jayanth.
Police have referred this case to Vanitha helpline for counselling Suma.
